Defends your site from fraudulent ad clicks

Squarespace is a user-friendly website builder that allows you to create and host websites. Hitprobe can be quickly and easily integrated with Squarespace sites to provide click fraud protection, preventing fraudulent and malicious clicks on ads that lead to your Squarespace site.

To install Hitprobe on your Squarespace site, you'll firstly need to check that you're on either a Business or Commerce plan, as you'll need to use Squarespace's code injection option to add the Hitprobe JavaScript tag as custom code.

First things first

If you haven't already, you'll need to create a Hitprobe account and follow the onboarding steps to obtain both your site key (Make sure you copy the site key and not the secret key) and the Hitprobe tag JavaScript code - you can learn more about this and how to configure the code ready to add to your Squarespace site here.

Adding the custom code

Now that you've got the Hitprobe tag ready with your specific site key, you're ready to add the tag to your Squarespace site.

The process is quick and easy, can be completed in a few minutes and doesn't require plugins or additional tools, instead leveraging Squarespace's inbuilt premium code injection tool. (Note - the following steps will add the tag to all pages of your site - if you need to add the tag to individual pages, you'll need to follow the second set of steps):

  1. Log in to your Squarespace account.
  2. Select the site you're adding the Hitprobe tag to (Note - if you're an Agency or Enterprise user who has multiple sites to protect, you'll need to repeat these steps).
  3. In the Home menu sidebar, select Website, then Pages.
  4. Under Utilities, select Website tools.
  5. From here, under Custom code, select Code injection.
  6. Paste the Hitprobe code, with the updated site key, into the Header field, then tap Save (This will be injected into the 'head' tag on every page of your site).

If you only need to add the Hitprobe tag to one, or specific pages of your site, you'll need to follow these steps instead:

  1. In the Home menu sidebar, select Website, then Pages.
  2. Hover your mouse over the relevant page, then click on the settings cog icon.
  3. Tap Advanced, then paste the Hitprobe tag code into the Header field and tap Save (top left).
