Protect your store from click fraud

BigCommerce is a leading Ecommerce platform for growing online stores. Hitprobe integrates seamlessly to protect against click fraud, ensuring your ad budget is spent on real, potential customers.

Installing Hitprobe on your BigCommerce store is quick and easy, taking just a few minutes.

Simply obtain your Hitprobe tag code and use BigCommerce's built-in Script Manager to add it to your store, ensuring it loads on every page seamlessly.

Prepare the Hitprobe tag

After signing up for your free Hitprobe account, you'll go through a short onboarding process where your tracking tag will be displayed for you to copy. Keep it handy for the next step.

If you’ve already set up your Hitprobe account and added your site’s domain, you’ll need the site key associated with that domain.

You'll need to insert this site key into the Hitprobe tag by replacing <your_site_key> with your actual site key. (Note: Be sure to remove the angle brackets after pasting your key.)

How to obtain your site key

  1. Log in to your Hitprobe account.
  2. If you manage multiple sites, select the correct one from the drop-down menu in the sidebar (top left).
  3. Click Manage Site in the sidebar.
  4. Scroll down to Site Key and copy the code. (Important: Ensure you copy the site key, not the secret key).
  5. Paste the Site key into the Hitprobe tag as instructed earlier and keep it ready for the next step.

Adding the tag to your storefront

Adding the Hitprobe tag takes minutes using BigCommerce's inbuilt tools, meaning there's no need for plugins or complex changes.

  1. Log in to your BigCommerce Admin Panel.
  2. Tap on Storefront in the sidebar, then tap Script Manager.
  3. Click Create a script.
  4. Give your script a name, i.e. 'Hitprobe tracking script' - you can add a description as well, but this is purely optional.
  5. Under Placement, select Header - this will ensure that the tag fires as the page content loads.
  6. For Location, select All pages.
  7. Under Script category, select Essential.
  8. Select Script under Script type, then paste in your Hitprobe code, including your site key.
  9. Click Save to make the changes.
