To add custom code to a Weebly site, you'll firstly need to check you're on a paid plan. Once you're ready to get started, it'll only take a few minutes to add the code using the built-in tools, which you can add to one, or all of your sites pages.
(Note - whilst Weebly does offer plugins via their App Center, currently, there are no plugins that allow for JavaScript code to be added to header section of a site's pages).
Getting started
First, you'll need to create your free Hitprobe account, complete the onboarding process and prepare the Hitprobe tag with your specific site key for the website you're looking to protect. You can read more about this via our helpful onboarding documentation here.
Adding the tag to your site
There are two methods to add the tag, either to all pages, or individually, based on your specific business's ad campaigns and associated landing pages. (Note - It's recommended to always add the tag to all of your sites pages).
To add the tag to all pages:
- Firstly, log in to your Weebly account.
- Open the site you want to edit (If you're an Agency or Enterprise user with multiple sites to protect, you'll need to repeat these steps).
- In the menu sidebar, select Website, then Edit site.
- Once you're in the page editor view, click on the Settings cog icon.
- Click on SEO, locate the field titled Header code, and paste in the Hitprobe tag code you kept aside during the onboarding process, making sure you've deleted the angle brackets either side of the site key you inserted.
- Click Save, then tap on Publish (top right) to make the changes live to your site.
As an alternative to adding the tag to all of your sites pages, here's how to add the tag to individual pages:
- Navigate to your sites dashboard view.
- Tap Website, then Edit site.
- In the pages drop down (top left), select the individual page you want to add the tag to.
- Once the page is active, click on the Settings cog icon, followed by View page settings.
- Scroll down to the Header code section (usually under Advanced > SEO).
- Paste in the Hitprobe tag code you kept aside during the onboarding process, making sure you've deleted the angle brackets either side of the site key you inserted.
- Click Save, then tap on Publish (top right) to make the changes live to your page.
